Build Your Business Like a City on a Hill With a Christian SEO Company
The world and business make for messy lines sometimes. The realities of business can make it seem like God’s kingdom is impossible to build, if you’re also trying to build a successful business.
Maybe you're sacrificing too much time to work, and not spending enough time with your family and community.
Or you feel uncertain with advertising options, because of all the unknowns about big tech and where (and who) your hard-earned money is going to.
But it is possible to make your business strong enough to function without all your time and energy, with faith, with ethical business practices, and with partnerships with people who share your mission.

What is SEO?
There's no unified, agreed upon definition of SEO. Sorry. Most people have a slightly different understanding of what it is and what's involved in it.
The ultimate goal is to gain more visibility online: higher search results, more clicks, more conversions. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is any action that contributes to that goal.
Generally speaking, you can divide SEO into "on page SEO" (content), "technical SEO" (coding), and "off page SEO" (reputation management and press releases). All of these items contribute to your visibility in search engines and AI.
And yes, I include AI along with traditional search engines now, even though some people use AEO or other acronyms.

What makes SEO ethical?
There's the right way and the wrong way to do things.
In SEO, the wrong way is called "Black Hat." They're techniques that might work, technically, but they eventually get punished by Google or fail, because they won't end in good clients. You might get people to your page, but they are coming under a false understanding. They won't convert. Or you might be building up backlinks, but they're on spammy link farms. They won't really help you longterm.
The right way is "White Hat." These techniques keep in mind your needs, customer wants, and search intention. It also keeps in mind the way that the algorithm of search works, and works within that framework without trying to manipulate it just to boost metrics.

Why is SEO a worthy investment in your business?
Referrals are great. But if your company doesn't try to curate the customer journey in this day, they'll make their own customer experience. AI will answer the questions about your product or service for you. Reddit will give the opinions you might not want to hear. People will judge you before they even land on your website.
Search engine optimization helps build your online credibility, and when it's done ethically, you preserve your values.
SEO builds your visibility with search engines like Google and LLMs like ChatGPT, so you catch people when they first need to hear about you.
It strengthens your reputation and directs people to your services or your website.
And the more people hear about your brand, the more they trust you.
Help your customers have a good user experience, and your company will be able to serve more people and have a greater impact on God' Kingdom in the economic sphere.

What it's like to work with me for ethical SEO:
Your business message online can get mangled by human understanding or AI… bogged down with stereotypes and unable to reach the people you want.
It can be different.
Lisa Theus LLC is here to help. As a Christian business owned and operated by a sole proprietor, I am on hand for you. You don’t have to guess who you’re working with or what they’re supporting.
I am…
I live and breathe the faith personally and professionally. And together, we can build up a Christian economy and renew the face of the Earth.
When you work with a strategist who understands Christianity and your values, you won’t have to worry about important things being lost in translation. Your beliefs deserve to be expressed to your prospects clearly and compellingly.
Personalized Attention in an Age of Automation
Let’s be honest: sometimes, working with another human being can be obnoxious.
They turn in work late if they don’t ghost you entirely. They complain. They forget something important.
If you’ve ever had to work with another person, technological assistants can be tempting.
A computer doesn’t forget. ChatGPT can produce average writing.
Isn’t that good enough?
Technology has many great features – but it can’t replace humanity.
Tools were meant to improve human life and allow for human flourishing, not to replace human spirit and intellect.
Still, some businesses and even marketers outsource their writing and research entirely – to computer intelligence.
Reliable Human Connections are Possible–and You Deserve Them!
Strategic skill and writing finesse aren’t all you need.
You need (and deserve) someone who is willing to build a relationship and show up dependably.
If someone doesn’t take the time to get to know you, your business, and your goals, you’ll sound like every other business in your industry.
But every business is unique – if it wasn’t, there wouldn’t be a market for it.
At Lisa Theus LLC, our first step is a one-on-one conversation to understand you and your mission. And when we work together, we do so under a contract: so you know, exactly, what you can expect and when you’ll get it. I’m available every step of the way for questions.
It’s the reliability of technology and the soul of humanity, together.
It can be different.

Still Curious? Here's Some Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be Christian to work with you?
Well, I never ask my clients for a statement of their faith before we work together. If you ended up here because you are burned out on marketing, are looking for someone who cares about doing work ethically, have a great product or service, and are friendly to Christian missions, we can talk. It doesn't hurt to have a 15 minute conversation. But I am able to write best for certain markets, and companies serving markets or values I'm less familiar with, we probably won't be the best fit. Part of SEO is content writing and brand development, and it's most effective for everyone to work with someone who demonstrates they can 'get' what you're doing.
Are you really a doctor?
Yes, actually! I have a PhD in Classics from Rutgers University. I wrote my dissertation on hunting imagery in Latin poetry. It has nothing to do with marketing but everything to do with research, writing, and having fun with technical details.
How much do professional SEO services cost?
It varies based on project speed and scope. The quicker you want to see your website traffic increase and higher listings on the search engine results page -- and the larger your website -- the higher the fee. But all arrangements are monthly retainer engagements.
Shouldn't I just rely on referrals?
Referrals are great, but that doesn't help your could-be-customer who doesn't know anyone! If you can help people outside of your immediate circle, optimize that website.
What is your AI use?
Here is my statement on AI and SEO.
I look forward to working together to grow your business.
